ANTONY THE GREAT, THE "FATHER OF MONKS"
Monastery of Bose, 2-5 september 2025
in collaboration with the Orthodox Churches
St. Antony the Great is recognized by ancient tradition as the ‘Father of monks’ and is the first monk whose writings have been handed down, although his influence on subsequent generations depends mainly on the Life of Antony written by St. Athanasius of Alexandria, a work that spread widely throughout the ecumene and became the model for Christian hagiography.
